That is some SEVERE cuteness! I hope 2008 really IS as delectable as he is (Emily’s year was better than ours. Here’s to flushing that one). Muffin has a major fanbase out here…
You know how some babies are cute simply because they’re babies? Muffin is different — he’s genuinely the prettiest child I have ever seen (sorry, nieces and nephews, but he is). And I noticed yesterday in Relief Society how alert he is, looking around and examining everything with such an intent look on his face.
With Muffin as a token of the coming year, it’s a cinch that 2008 is going to be great.

Ardis!!! Hi! Want to come over for New Years’ dinner? It’s just Hoppin’ John, spoon bread, and probably a salad (and some soba noodles to appease Asher) and then a greek New Year’s cake. But I’m feeling way to wiped to walk over to your house–we stayed up until midnight, dumb us–and your email doesn’t like me (sob). Dinner is between 5 and 5:30.
Everyone, thanks We’re pretty fond of our adorable little baked good. I tell everyone he’s the only “store bought” baked good I’ve ever loved with my entire soul. May 2008 bring everyone the sort of joy Muffin expresses in this photo–and not the emotion he expresses when denied his fathers copious stash of ginger snaps.
Lia–His name is actually “Finn,” which is nicely inserted in “Muffin.” But before we even took him home from the hospital he had become “Muffin.” I can’t really explain why; he’s just so muffiny! It fits him perfectly
I’ve always been partial to the muffin top…and this one’s no exception. Just look at that face Janet! Okay, I know you hardly stop to do anything else. But still. Just LOOK at him! So scrumdiddilyumptious!
♥
Blue! (Yes, it is hard to look away. He’s asleep in a sling around my shoulders right now and DH has been snapping endless photos.) I heart you right back.
Janet - I have finally figured out who Muffin looks like to me. Sinead O’Connor in this video. I hope that isn’t an insult because I think she is beautiful even bald.
ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!!

Oh for goodness sakes, look at those legs. Positively munchable.
By the way, next year my boy will be about the same age, and I’m totally copying this picture.
