SoCal Snacker Postmortem

By: Reese Dixon - January 23, 2010

A whole bunch of us braved the rain and got together last night for a wild rumpus and lots of vegetarian gluttony.

Bobby Pin Natalie, Mardell, Kaimi, CWC, and Lorian

Seriously, if anything could convert me to giving up meat, it’s the tons and tons of food we ate last night and the lack of guilt I feel for it this morning.

We had so much fun, and laughed our heads off. Every single person in the group was singularly charming and delightful.

And if Kaimi’s law career doesn’t work out, he’s got a great future in clowning around.

Thanks for coming everyone! We’ll do it again soon!

  4. Did Sara bring bread? I’ve gotta know what the extent of my depression should be…exactly what I missed.

  5. Mark, if you look closer, just past the bottle (of sparkling LEMONADE!) is a big batch of my apricot-habanero jam over cream cheese. :-P

  9. Oh! Oh! That reminds me!

If anyone was in attendance at last weeks’ all-southern-California-stakes broadcast from Salt Lake (counted as each stake’s Stake Conference), please email me!! Address is sisterblah2 (that’s @gmail). I will explain in email. I just need help remembering one of the talks.

    Thanks!!!

  10. Sara did not bring bread, per se. But she did bring lemon bars made with lemons fresh from her brother’s lemon tree, and she brought me some sourdough barm that she snuck on the plane by labeling it as face wash. Now I just have to figure out how to not kill it.

  19. That was the most amazing spread of food ever. Loved it! And so great to meet the peeps! I NEED that recipe for the sweet potato fries, so good. I may have consumed the entire platter.

And I shall start signing my name “Bobby Pin Natalie” to avoid confusion! Had no idea how many Natalie’s there were.

  23. So, fMh, I’m going to be in Utah Valley from March 5-14. I’ll be on a mission trip with TEDS students, so I’ll be on something of a leash, but would anyone be interested in holding a SLC or Provo snacker then? I might be able to convince the mission leaders to let me attend.

If you’re willing to be visited by a group of evangelical students and let them share with you the Four Spiritual Laws or something, it would be an even easier sell to the mission leaders! :)
